I was watching Randy Pausch's "Last Lecture" (or not) last night (for the millionth time) for some inspiration. He imparted some sage advice, things that are increasingly applicable in my life.
One of the things that popped up to me, particularly during these college apps times, was when Randy reflected on his college admissions process. He went to Brown University as an undergraduate and then to Carnegie-Mellon to be a doctor (not the kind who helps people). Interestingly enough, he didn't get in to either one at first. In fact, he called Brown everyday until they just let him in (probably a stretch, but interesting, nonetheless).
Maybe there's something to be learned here.
